If you come across any coaching institute material make sure why you are buying that material. Are you able to find something in those book which is not easy to get information on (or) You are buying it simply because it is a great coaching institute or you have seen everyone carrying it around or your friend recommended it. If you follow the second way you will end up buying every institute material and reading nothing but spending your money on useless bunch of books. So before buying any material first go through the syllabus and make sure you got all info from the above said books, incase you don’t get then think of buying material with that “specific topic”. By focusing on the above 6 to 8 books and the latest current affairs mostly you don’t need any other material. All we need is 120 in every paper and another 20 in interview( total 380) to get a group 2 service.

    Hi Dilip,

I would like to know the exact syllabus in AP history because in the notification they have mentioned “Socio- Cultural and Religious conditions in Andhra Desha between first and fifteenth centuries of the Christian Era” but questions are not confined to those areas. Questions are coming from Chalukya, chola, pallava and reddy dynesty as well. So is it required to read entire ancient AP history? Please suggest me on this.

      Hi ravi,
Which era do chalukya, chola, pallava and reddy dynasty belong to ? There are all between 5th century to 15th century only! what is wrong in asking questions from that era.Syllabus is very clear..first and fifteenth centuries of christain era means 1 AD to 1500 AD.

    Hi Dilip,
I would like write Group 2 in this 2014. My doubt is that as Telangana separated from AP, is the group 2 exam going to be conducted by Telangana state itself? Will the questions will be covering the both states?
And I will write exam in English, is it enough to follow RC Reddy material along with reading telugu newspapers covering current affairs? Please let me know. Thank you for your guidance.

      Hi Jyothi,
Groups exam will be conducted seperately for Telangana once the new public service commission comes into existence and we don’t know the syllabus for those exams. There might be few changes from the existing syllabus.RC reddy material is good and you can follow it along with the newspapers.
